The basking shark is the second largest fish in the worlds oceans. Weighing up to 6 tonnes and measuring up to 12m long! However there is nothing to fear as these gentle giants only feed on zooplankton, using their enormously wide mouths to filter the plankton from the water as they swim back and forth. They are often seen between May and September.
