SEA LIFE SPOTLIGHT: JOHN DORY FISH

SEA LIFE SPOTLIGHT: JOHN DORY FISH
The John Dory is a predatory fish that feeds on a variety of schooling fishes and invertebrates. They are typically found in a wide range of depths from 5 m all the way down to 360 m!!
No one can really decide where the name comes from. Popular theories include the translation of the French words jaune (yellow) and dorée (Gilded) others include an allusion to a hero of an old ballad or possibly even biblical origins! We do love a mystery here at SDS!
